BioPharmaceuticals Flow Cytometry & Imaging

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

Until the inaugural BioPharmaceutical Flow Cytometry 2008 meeting held at AstraZeneca R&D Charnwood, UK, there had been little opportunity for users of Flow Cytometry in Drug Discovery and development to get together, share expertise, discuss pitfalls and future requirements.

This meeting was recognised as a huge success by attendees that included small-to mid-sized biotech companies, contract research organisations and global pharmaceutical companies.  Demand has led to a 2nd meeting – ‘BioPharmaceutical Flow Cytometry & Imaging 2010’  at GSK, Ware maintaining the same important themes but expanding to include imaging.   The content of this FREE two day meeting will include industrial-based themes covering the drug development journey from discovery to clinical evaluation.

CONFERENCE OVERVIEW

The impact of DNA sequencing has touched most research laboratories across the world, either as part of historical landmarks such as the human genome project or simply through the use of what have become routine sequence analysis procedures. As a consequence, many successful efforts have been put in place to both improve the quality and decrease the cost of traditional DNA sequencing. Recently, some radically different approaches have been developed and introduced to the market. These new technologies herald the era of Next Generation DNA Sequencing and move us towards increasingly cost effective whole genome sequences and the benefits that will bring to a wide variety of applications.

This meeting will offer insights into the field of Next Generation DNA sequencing through presentations highlighting both the new technologies and their applications. Speakers from industry and academia will discuss their approaches in this emerging area which is certain to play a central role in a broad variety of fields including life science research, molecular diagnostics, biomarker discovery and forensic DNA testing.
