Academic screening at GNF
Academic laboratories offer an invaluable resource of drug target validation and expertise, as well as some of the best disease relevant models. Over the past few years GNF has developed an network of collaborators through its academic screening program. GNF has an number of agreements with universities and research institutes to offer an “in kind” screening model in emerging and neglected disease areas.
In partnership with the academic group we assess potential screening assays, optimise them for automation and minitursation and then screen them against a 650k compound collection. The result of the screen are then shared between both groups for further characterization and validation of the biology or starting points for a drug discovery campaign.
We will present examples of the value of academic screening in neglected disease and emerging target biology.
