Zoe Blaxill, GSK

Biog:

Zoe Blaxill is a manager in the European QC Centre part of Analytical Chemistry at GlaxoSmithKline.

Zoe obtained her 1st class honours degree in Chemistry from the University of Northumbria in 1993 and also obtained an MSc in Analytical Chemistry with Distinction from Birkbeck College London in 1998.

Zoe worked for GlaxoWellcome in Chemical Development from 1993-1998 specialising in NMR, InfraRed and Mass Spectrometry and then moved to Platform Sciences and Technology in 1998 to work in Analytical Chemistry supporting Compound Management and Screening Sciences to ensure the integrity of compounds within the GSK collection using various analytical techniques (mainly LC-MS and LC-CLND-MS). Zoe has been involved with various stability experiments to look at various storage conditions within the Compound Management area, including using CLND quantitatively to investigate the concentration of compound in DMSO. In 2011 Zoe went on a secondment to Addis Ababa, Ethiopia and worked as part of the epidemiology and data management team in the statistical analysis of a national survey including an evaluation of the assessment of ownership and use of insecticide treated mosquito nets. Zoe is now back at GSK ready to face her next challenge.
