Structural Biology and Rational Drug Design
Advances in structural biology are providing a wealth of data to support rational drug design. Structural genomics initiatives, in particular, are providing 3D information for numerous members of gene families, giving unprecedented opportunity to identify novel ligands. The data can have a significant impact on projects from the earliest stages when no hits are available right through to late lead optimization, particularly when used in combination with advanced computational techniques or fragment-based screening approaches. The session will bring together a wide range of experts from both academia and industry to share their experiences and provide insight into future directions.
