DD Automation & Detection Systems
Miniaturization of assays (smaller volumes and higher densities) has been a consistent trend in drug discovery for almost 2 decades. This has led to more sophisticated automation (nano-dispensing, precise plate handling), reader technology (imaging, spectroscopic) and more sensitive assay technologies (label-free, homogeneous). Have we reached the practical limit of plate-based miniaturization? Will the next generation of enabling assay technologies find a place in a microplate world? This session will bring together these topics with a view of current state of the art methods and how future developments might affect the drug discovery infrastructure.
